WHY WE CHOSE THIS MATERIAL:

• We selected this high-grade slub-textured fabric specifically for its architectural discipline and permanent shape memory. While natural silks hold a cherished place in heritage textiles, they naturally crease, soften with movement, and lose pressed pleats under ambient humidity. To honor the crisp knife pleats and sculptural volume central to traditional Korean silhouette lines, this engineered textile heat-sets cleanly; ensuring the structure stays razor-sharp and wrinkle-free all day. Sourcing this specialized material delivers the tactile depth and subtle luster of classic shantung, keeping a complex, highly constructed silhouette pristine wear after wear. To further our commitment to mindful production, we intentionally sourced existing, already-made fabric for this design to help reduce textile waste. In line with our commitment to mindful production, we intentionally utilized the same high-quality, existing fabric used in our pleated garments for this design. By repurposing this material rather than commissioning new production, we are able to reduce textile waste and honor a more sustainable, circular approach to manufacturing while keeping the final piece accessible.
